Self-Contained Campervans for Sale in NZ

Every campervan that leaves our Auckland yard is certified self-contained under NZ's Freedom Camping standards — meaning you can legally freedom-camp anywhere self-contained camping is allowed. Here's what that actually means and why it matters.

What "self-contained" means in NZ

A self-contained certified vehicle can carry the water, waste and toilet facilities needed to support the occupants for a minimum of three days without external services. It's a legal certification (blue sticker in the window) issued after inspection to the NZS 5465 standard.

What every Only Camper Vans build includes

  • Fresh water tank (12L per person minimum)
  • Grey water tank of equal capacity
  • Sealed portable toilet with 3L capacity per person
  • Rubbish bin with lid
  • Certified self-containment inspection & blue sticker

Why it's worth it

Freedom camping saves you thousands over a long trip and opens up NZ's best spots — coastal reserves, DOC campsites and roadside stops that ban non-self-contained vans. Buying a van that's already certified means one less thing to sort out before you hit the road.
